Why do not you have to be afraid of death?
Luther:
None of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s (Romans 14: 7 and 8). If that is true, why should we be afraid of death? Is it not still the entrance into eternal life? As long as we live here in this mortal body, we are strangers in the inn of the devil. But as soon as we leave this life, we ascend to heaven, to our eternal fatherland, which we always looked so forward to with heartfelt desire.
Yes, we are the property of the Lord, that is our only comfort and highest happiness.
